New season for Sporting Club
The rider won the Cheltenham Gold Cup on Cool Dawn in 1998, the King George VI Chase on See More Business in 1997, and the Cheltenham Novices Hurdle on French Holly in 1998.
Being a jockey is not for the fainthearted, he explained to the Sporting Club that he has recovered from 17 broken bones.

Hide AdFurther entertainment was provided by comedian Austin Knights.
To start the evening off two cheques were presented, firstly a cheque for £500 to Steve McConville of Sturton-by-Stowe Judo Club to help with the purchasing of new mats.
Steve and his daughter Nicola have been running the club for the past 20 years and need help in replacing certain items of equipment.
The second award was to Darryl Phipps, manager of Gainsborough Trinity Under 9s, and he also received a cheque for £500.
The next event is on 15th November, with the annual Ladies Night.
The traditional five-course meal will be followed by entertainment by the Blues Brothers Tribute Band and dancing until 12.30am.
