Weather forecasters are warning of torrential downpours in Nottinghamshire at the end of the week.
The Met Office has issued a yellow ‘be aware’ alert of rain lasting between 6am on Thursday and 11.50pm on Friday.
A Met Office spokesman said: “The rainfall is likely to be heavy and thundery at times, with the potential for torrential downpours in places.
“The public should be aware of a significant risk of very localised disruption to travel due to surface water flooding.
“Lightning may be an additional hazard.”
